Ares Raised About $4.2 Billion for a Structured Solutions Fund
October 2, 2026

Ares Management said it raised approximately $4.2 billion for its inaugural Ares Global Structured Solutions Fund and affiliated vehicles. The firm said that total is above a $1 billion target. The Business Wire release is dated October 1, 2026. This is not an LPShares listing.
What Ares said the fund will do
The Ares Private Equity Secondaries team will run the capital. The release names three uses: larger commitments to GP funds, structured LP commitments that seed new strategies, and succession plans.
Those are different jobs. A larger GP commitment is capital alongside a manager’s own fund. A structured LP commitment can help a manager start a strategy with a known investor already in place. A succession plan is a way to move ownership or economics when a firm changes hands. The release groups them under one structured solutions fund. It does not describe this vehicle as a debut secondaries fund. Continuation vehicles and GP stakes sit in the broader Ares secondaries suite, not as the name of this fund.
The figures in the release
Two other numbers are in the same announcement.
The firm said funds in this strategy have deployed nearly $9 billion in structured solutions transactions since 2013. It also said the Ares Secondaries Group managed $44 billion as of June 30, 2026.
Both figures describe Ares. They are not a price for any other private holding, and they are not a forecast of what a future seller will be paid.
What the raise does not say
A closed fundraising total is a statement about one manager’s capital. It does not mean an LP in a different fund can sell, and it does not set the terms of that sale. Transfers in private funds still depend on the manager, the documents, and the buyer. A large raise is not a promise of liquidity, and it is not a promise of a return.
LPShares was not part of this fundraise. Nothing in the release is a listing on LPShares.
Why the structure matters
Private fund investors often wait on the life of the fund before cash comes back. Tools such as GP commitments, structured LP capital, and succession deals give managers another way to reshape a firm or a strategy without treating every holder the same. That is a description of the product Ares named. It is not a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any position.
